Strategies for success:
One
3 is the magic number:
Step 1 – Chose a subtopic to revise e.g. caregiver-infant interactions in Attachment Unit, and carry out some form of revision (flashcards, spider map, Quizlet, Seneca etc).
Step 2 – Find 3 questions on this topic (1 short answer question 1-3 marks, 1 medium answer question 4-6 marks, and 1 essay question 8 or 16 marks). You can find these on canvas in files/exam papers/topic by topic exam questions.
Step 3 – Cross check your answers with the mark scheme and add in comments in a different coloured pen. You may have missed something, or you may need to correct a mistake. For 8 or 16 mark essays, look at the model answers on canvas in files/model answers. You can find the mark schemes at the end of each document for the exam questions in canvas in files/exam papers/topic by topic exam questions.
Two
Thoroughly learn research studies – exact details: sample, method, procedure, qualitative and quantitative findings and conclusions. You can do this by, creating a table of the subtopics for each unit and use the Psychology blog or your class notes to add the studies. You can find a template for the Psychopathology unit on canvas files/revision activities/research studies revision table.
Three
Attend the Wednesday lunchtime support session or sign up to the Psychology Mentor program where you work with a Psychology student in year 13.
Four
Carry out some wider reading. You could do this by reading ahead on the psychology blog https://mrsharrispsychology.school.blog/
Or read the ‘Psychology Review’ in the library.
